Star Live delivered over 17,000 temporary grandstand seats across two main venues for Tokyo 2020: the rowing venue at Sea Forest Waterway and the tennis venues at Ariake Tennis Park.

This was a complex project for a variety of reasons, including compliance with onerous Japanese regulations that only allow 10 seats between exits, leading to over 200 sets of staircases being provided.

All temporary grandstand structures had to be re-engineered to meet Japan’s high requirements for seismic loading and typhoon-level winds. Star Live's in-house designers and engineers found creative solutions to achieve the highest possible C-values.
